Visit our auction calendar to explore our online-only auctions and view the lots that interest you.
New users will need a Goodwin online account to register and bid in our auctions. Once you have created your account and registered card details, you will be approved to bid.
Sign In To Your Online Account & Confirm Your Bid
Now that you have an online account once you log in and you will be ready to bid. Please note that we are unable to post commission bids on your behalf in a timed auction.
View the auction for those lots that you are interested in. You can see what the current bidding on that lot has reached together with our guide estimates of its value. You can leave a new maximum bid at any point during the bidding period. The value you bid excludes buyer’s premium of 22% (Inc GST).
A countdown clock is placed under every lot on the lot detail page for you to keep track on the time remaining to bid before the lot is closed. The sale will close one lot at a time, in sequential order.
If at any time during the auction you are outbid you will receive an email notifying you, giving you the chance to increase your bid.
If a new highest bid is placed during the last 2 minutes before a lot closes, the end time for that lot will be extended by another 60 seconds until there are no more bids remaining. A lot of bidding activity happens in those final minutes, so keep monitoring the lots you are interested in!
If you are unable to follow the sale to its end, simply enter your maximum amount and select ‘Set Max Bid’. Goodwin will bid on your behalf up to and including this amount.
We work with experts to ensure the authenticity of all items in our auctions. Each item undergoes thorough inspection and, when applicable, comes with certificates of authenticity or expert appraisals. If you have questions about the authenticity of a specific item, please contact us before bidding.
We welcome clients who wish to view items in person prior to auction. Viewings require a appointment and can be made by contacting our sales team at [email protected].

Buying through Goodwin Auctions is a straightforward and rewarding experience. Whether you're a first-time bidder or a regular collector, we’ve made the process easy to follow from start to finish.
REGISTER TO BID
Before participating in any auction, all bidders must register.
- You can register online via our website or in person at a live auction.
- You’ll need to provide accurate contact and payment information.
- By registering, you agree to our Terms & Conditions of Sale.
We recommend registering early to ensure your account is approved before bidding begins.
BROWSE THE CATALOGUE
All upcoming auctions are listed on our website, with full catalogues available for preview.
Each listing includes:
- Photographs of the item
- Descriptions and condition notes
- Starting prices and estimated values
If you need further details about a lot, please contact us for condition reports or additional photos.
CHOOSE HOW TO BID
We offer multiple bidding options to suit your needs:
- Online Bidding: Bid live or place absentee bids through our secure bidding platform.
- Telephone Bidding: Our staff can call you during the auction and place bids on your behalf.
- Absentee Bidding: Submit your maximum bid before the auction and we’ll bid on your behalf up to that amount.
All bids are final once placed. Please be sure before you bid.
WINNING AND PAYMENT
If you are the highest bidder at the fall of the hammer (or close of the lot online), you will receive an invoice shortly after the auction.
Your invoice will include:
- The hammer price
- Buyer’s premium
- GST (if applicable)
- Shipping fees (if required)
Payment is due within 3 business days.
Accepted payment methods include:
- Bank transfer (preferred)
- Credit or debit card
Ownership of items transfers only after full payment has been received and cleared.
COLLECTION AND SHIPPING
We offer both shipping and in-person collection options for your convenience.
Shipping
- We use Australia Post Platinum Express Post.
- Free shipping for purchases over $1,000
- $19.90 flat-rate shipping for purchases under $1,000
- Includes tracking and signature on delivery
- Insurance is available on request
We carefully pack all items to ensure they arrive safely.
Collection
- You may collect your purchases from our premises by appointment once payment is confirmed.
- Please contact us to arrange a suitable pickup time.
- If someone is collecting on your behalf, written authorisation is required.
